Based on limited published evidence, FAM184B function remains largely uncharacterized. The gene has been identified as part of coordinated transcriptional changes in skeletal muscle of COPD patients, showing ≥2-fold expression variation 1. Additionally, FAM184B was mapped to a CpG site significantly associated with postnatal second-hand smoke exposure in children's blood DNA methylation 2, suggesting potential involvement in environmental response pathways. However, specific molecular functions and protein interactions require further investigation.
