Based on limited published evidence, H3C7 (H3 clustered histone 7) is a histone protein involved in chr6 structure. Recent transcriptome analysis in gastric cancer cells revealed that H3C7 expression is downregulated following Mebendazole treatment, ranking among the top three underexpressed genes 1. The downregulation was validated by RT-qPCR, suggesting H3C7 may be involved in epigenetic mechanisms of drug response in gastric cancer. However, specific molecular functions and biological roles of H3C7 remain poorly characterized in the published literature.
