Based on limited published evidence, LRRD1 is a cytoplasmic protein containing leucine-rich repeats and a death domain. A testis-enriched gene, LRRD1 knockout mice showed normal male fertility and testicular development, indicating the gene is not individually essential for male reproduction 1. LRRD1 has been identified as a fusion partner gene with MET in advanced solid tumors, where MET-LRRD1 fusions were associated with poor chemotherapy response and reduced overall survival 2. Further functional characterization is needed to fully elucidate LRRD1's molecular role.
