Based on limited published evidence, METTL25 is a probable methyltransferase with unclear specific catalytic function. In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), METTL25 expression is upregulated compared to normal tissue 1. Unlike most other METTL family members, METTL25 was not significantly associated with HCC stage or invasion depth, and its expression did not show independent association with overall survival outcomes 1. METTL25 remains part of the broader METTL family implicated in epigenetic regulation and tumor progression, though its distinct molecular role requires further characterization.
