FOXD4L4 is a forkhead box transcription factor with DNA-binding and RNA polymerase II-specific transcriptional regulatory activity. As a nuclear protein, it functions in transcriptional regulation and is involved in cell differentiation and anatomical structure morphogenesis through chr9-mediated mechanisms. Based on limited published evidence, FOXD4L4 is hypermethylated in ovarian tumors compared to normal tissue, with 93% sensitivity and 67% specificity as a potential biomarker 1. Additionally, FOXD4L4 is dysregulated in colorectal cancer and may play an important role in CRC development 2.
