Based on limited published evidence, PRSS48 encodes a serine-type endopeptidase with protein binding capability and proteolytic activity. PRSS48 was identified as a novel risk gene highly or specifically expressed in testes and significantly associated with nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA) in Chinese patients 1. Additionally, PRSS48 was identified as a characteristic gene in lung adenocarcinoma lymph node metastasis through machine learning analysis 2. However, detailed molecular mechanisms and functional validation remain limited in published literature.
