Based on limited published evidence, STX19 is an atypical Q-SNARE involved in endosomal trafficking and vesicle fusion. UniProt annotations indicate its role in EGFR endosomal trafficking, exocytosis, and intracellular protein transport via SNARE complex formation. STX19 localizes to tubular recycling endosomes where it colocalizes with MICAL-L1 and Rab8, and lacks a typical C-terminal transmembrane domain 1. S-acylation at its C-terminus regulates STX19 membrane targeting, stability, and protects it from proteasomal degradation 1.
