Based on limited published evidence, TANGO6 is annotated with a role in protein secretion according to GO terms. TANGO6 is located downstream of CDH1 and contains regulatory elements that form part of a chr16 network controlling CDH1 expression 1. Additionally, differential DNA methylation at TANGO6 has been associated with physical neglect in childhood trauma within a severe mental illness cohort 2. The functional significance of TANGO6 itself remains largely uncharacterized beyond these regulatory and epigenetic associations.
