Based on limited published evidence, TCEAL9 (also known as WBP5) may be involved in transcriptional regulation. In acute myeloid leukemia patients, high TCEAL9 expression correlates with elevated HOX cluster genes (HOXA5, HOXA7, HOXA9, HOXA10) and associated partner proteins, and is associated with inferior overall and event-free survival 1. TCEAL9 has been proposed as a candidate oncogene in colorectal cancers with microsatellite instability and as a predictive indicator in small cell lung cancers, though mechanistic details remain understudied.
