The protein contains transmembrane and immunoglobulin domains and exhibits transmembrane signaling receptor activity. GO annotations indicate roles in negative regulation of cell migration and proliferation, inflammatory response, and immune signaling. In pancreatic cancer, TMIGD3 was identified as an M2 macrophage-related biomarker associated with immune cell infiltration and angiogenesis 2. Isoform-specific functions have been noted, with TMIGD3 isoform1 showing suppressive effects distinct from other isoforms.
