Based on limited published evidence, PPIAL4C encodes a peptidylprolyl isomerase that catalyzes cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds, facilitating protein folding. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm and binds cyclosporin A. A lncRNA derived from the PPIAL4C locus (lnc-PPIAL4C-4) was identified in co-expression network analysis associated with gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis 1, though direct protein function in this context remains unclear.
