Based on limited published evidence, DRC8 (dynein regulatory complex subunit 8) is a component of the nexin-dynein regulatory complex (N-DRC), which regulates ciliary and flagellar motility. DRC8 functions to maintain axoneme alignment and integrity while regulating microtubule sliding in motile axonemes. The protein localizes to the sperm principal piece and axoneme, playing a role in cilium movement and flagellated sperm motility. No PubMed literature directly addressing DRC8 function was identified in the provided abstracts.
