Based on limited published evidence, PNLIPRP3 is a pancreatic lipase-related protein involved in lipid metabolism. Database annotations indicate functions in cholesterol homeostasis, fatty acid biosynthesis, triglyceride catabolism, and high-density lipoprotein remodeling through lipoprotein lipase and glycerophospholipid phospholipase A1 activities. PNLIPRP3 was markedly upregulated (>50-fold) in conjunctival epithelium of Stevens-Johnson syndrome patients 1, and showed novel over-expression in hepatocellular carcinoma 2, though mechanistic details remain unclear.
