SUMO-ubiquitin ligase activityprotein bindingnegative regulation of non-canonical NF-kappaB signal transductionregulation of gene expressionSplenomegalymale reproductive organ cancerkidney diseasechondrocalcinosis
Based on limited published evidence, TRIM60 is an E3 SUMO-protein ligase that mediates SUMOylation of TAB2, leading to suppression of NF-kappa-B and MAPK signaling pathways by inhibiting the TRAF6/TAB2/TAK1 complex. It functions in innate immune responses and gene expression regulation through SUMO-ubiquitin ligase activity. A genetic variant near TRIM60 was suggestively associated with thyroid peroxidase antibodies in Hashimoto's thyroiditis 1, indicating potential involvement in thyroid autoimmunity, though the mechanistic connection remains unclear.
